Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clares Shadowhunter Chronicles

After discovering my love for all things Shadowhunters I moved right on along from Infernal Devices Series to The Mortal Instruments series.

Now as I stated in my last post I sorted of cocked my reading order up a bit. Technically I should of read this series first and then follow on with the Infernal Devices which is the prequel. Trust me to do things ass about face, in the end though it worked out brilliantly and nothing was spoilt in this process :).

So the first book is City of Bones.-

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

I loved this book and this series I went through quite fast as well.
I'm not going to go through every book other wise you'd all be here forever while I rambled on my love for this series. Just know that they are well worth the read.
The characters are awesome with some smart ass lines (being a smart ass myself I find these are very amusing :))

“Usually I'm remarkably good natured. Try me on a day that doesn't end in y.”
Jace

or

“Don't touch any of my weapons without my permission."

"Well, there goes my plan for selling them all on eBay," Clary muttered.
"Selling them on what?"
Clary smiled blandly at him. "A mythical place of great magical power.”

So from this book follows 5 other books with the 5th book coming out April 2014 (This is where my impatient side comes in cause I want to know now!!!! lol) - Click the Captions to read the synopsis's

City of Ashes
City of Glass
City of Fallen Angels
City of Lost Souls

The last book will be called City of Heavenly Fire. 2014 can't come soon enough.
Now another bonus about this book is the
Movie coming out in August this year which I'm extremely excited about.

I know there are some out there who never like the movie adaptations as they never match whats in your head and I know some of you will be groaning about the movie.
Normally with me if I watch the Movie first before I read the book I'm good. I can process them separately and go from there with treating them as different.
With the last 2 movies I saw that have books I made the mistake of reading the books first.
I say this was a mistake on my part because I couldn't separate them and kept waiting for things to happen when they'd been left out.
I'm going to see this movie with an open mind though as I'm dying to see how this world is interpreted and how it's going to come to life.
I want to see if they got the cast right and all those sorts of things (Casting is extremely important. I'm still not happy with the person cast as Ethan Wate in Beautiful Creatures. He just didn't fit my vision of Ethan - That is a whole different blog there though :)).

So as I said open mind :).
