Just Remember to Breathe - Charles Sheehan-Miles

Wow where to start with this book.

Just Remember to Breathe

Synopsis - Alex Thompson’s life is following the script. A pre-law student at Columbia University, she’s focused on her grades, her life and her future. The last thing she needs is to reconnect with the boy who broke her heart.

Dylan Paris comes home from Afghanistan severely injured and knows that the one thing he cannot do is drag Alex into the mess he’s made of his life.

When Dylan and Alex are assigned to the same work study program and are forced to work side by side, they have to make new ground rules to keep from killing each other.

Only problem is, they keep breaking the rules.

The first rule is to never, ever talk about how they fell in love.

Ok so again wow. I originally brought this book because the synopsis sounded pretty good. I mean come on who doesn't love a good Soldier story. It also helped that the guy on the front cover reminded me of Oliver Hudson whom I may have a slight crush on -

Anyway getting side tracked here.
I made my first mistake with this book by not picking it up as soon as it hit my kindle. I made my second mistake by thinking it was a good idea to pick it up and start it when I only had a 1hr free before I had to leave for work. All of those were mistakes because this book was seriously hard to put down. Once we got over the awkward character introductions and we got the in's and out's of Alex and Dylan's lives I was hooked. I wanted to know all about their history and what had got them to where they are now.
Thank god this book didn't leave me hanging.
This book also broke my heart a few times and in the end I was up way past my bed time because I couldn't go to bed knowing the characters over the course of a evening (Once I finished work, it wasn't until later that I could sit down and give this book my undivided attention. The joys of having a 4yr old), were not happy and all was not right with the world.

I won't go into the ending because I'm sure no one wants me to go an ruin it for them but seriously this book was awesome. I don't stay up till midnight often just to finish a book on a school night but as you could see above, I really had no choice. It was either find out what was going to happen or lie awake wondering what was going to happen.

Supporting character wise. Carrie was a cool big sister. I liked Sherman. I can't say I was that fond of Kelly and her Boyfriend Joel.

Now this book has some seriously swoon worthy lines to. (I'm going to have to start taking notes so Mr E can step up his game)

“There’s a side benefit to this. We get to learn about each other, get to know each other, all over again.” His voice dropped to a husky near whisper, and he leaned close and said next to my ear, “We get to fall in love all over again, for the second time. How cool is that?”
This book is definitely high up there on the scale of awesome and I highly recommend you read it :)
