Beautiful Broken Mess - Kimberly Lauren

Last month I told you about Beautiful Broken Rules - (WARNING, If you have not read this book there may be SPOILERS here. I do try not to post spoilers on this blog which is normally why I put series's together but this book needs a whole review to itself. I take no responsibility if you continue from here!)
I told you I couldn't wait to find out how Jase's story would unfold? I was also wondering how Kimberly was going to deal with actually making Audrey likeable. I REALLY didn't like her last book. Turns out things aren't always what they seem. This pic certainly comes to mind when I think of Audrey.

Ok so now on with this show - Beautiful Broken Mess

Synopsis - When life's always been a mess, can you still turn it into something beautiful?

Jace Riley’s close connection with his identical twin brother, Jaxon, is put to the test when he tries to choose between keeping his promises and following his heart. Is this girl that still haunts his dreams, even after four years, really worth it? Jace can’t help but wonder if he made a huge mistake all that time ago when he let her walk into someone else’s arms, especially since that someone was his twin.

Audrey Mills often wonders at what point she should throw her hands up in defeat and allow all of the horrible circumstances of her life to overtake her. Despite the demons she has faced, however, something inside her won’t give in. When she leaves her small town in Texas to attend college in California, Audrey runs into the one guy who could make her or break her. But is the past they share too painful for them to overcome?

Ok so as I said at the start I was not Audrey's biggest fan. I was wondering how Kimberly was going to be able to redeem such a bitch. Well congratulations Kimberly because of the way you wrote Audrey and told her story I now see the error of my ways and I actually LOVE her. Beautiful broken is definitely a good way to describe her. She's been through so much and she still comes out with her head held as high as she can, not being the victim.

Jase is all that was promised in the last book and then some. If I had to pick a favourite Riley brother it would be him. To me he's just got his head screwed on a bit better and I like a character that can make his decision but also pull his head out of his ass when he realises he stuffed up.

Jaxon, Em  and the others are in this book to. The story picks up after Em's overseas adventures. We're also introduced to Audrey's friend Lane. He's assumed the role of Audrey's big brother type friend who is protective of her. Knowing that the next book in this series has him in the starring role, I find myself very impatient for it (Beautiful Broken Promises - Expected out next year).

Overall this book managed to surpass Beautiful Broken Rules which shows Kimberly keeps setting the bar higher.
