A few posts ago I told you about Molly's Taking Chances and Stealing Harper.
Since I read those books I've been busy working through my "I'm really mad at Molly but really I love her" issues. It hasn't been easy but I'm getting there. It's good to see I'm not the only one with issues as there's a support group on facebook hahaha.
She released Forgiving Lies a few days ago so I thought "Ok, I think I've forgiven her enough to give this book a go. Please don't let there be a need for tissues".
I started reading and fell in love with this book.
Synopsis - A matter of secrets...
Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him
A matter of lies...
Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's will-power to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.
A matter of love...
As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies ... or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?
The story for this book is all sorts of goodness.
Rachel is a fighter who will not let anyone bring her down. Even after she's attacked by someone she trusted and her best friend didn't believe she doesn't let stop her from getting her shit together. I loved her "bitchiness" and her sense of style (Side story - Had a small conversation over on twitter with Molly in regards to "Skanked out" clothing. I'm sure I gave her a good laugh). It sounds like if Rachel was a real person me and her would get along great. I am doing well with find heroines at the moment. No "smack upside the head" moments for her either.
Kash - from the beginning as in the moment I saw the cover of the book I fell for this man. Tattoos, Piercing and once I got started on the book, a sense of humor and great personality to match. Seriously this man is pretty perfect. At the start he was trying not to get in a relationship due to his job, He fought his attraction to Rachel tooth and nail but in the end it was stronger than both of them and thank goodness they gave in.
The other supporting characters were well written and I must say Mason and his sense of humor is very cool. It's no wonder he's Kash's best friend.
Speaking of best friends. The award for the suckiest friend ever goes to Candice. Seriously I know Blake was convincing and Candice is a self absorbed person but the fact she was so horrible to Rachel when clearly her friend was upset was unforgivable. I spent most of the book wanting to have a hair pulling, bitch slapping fight with her. Pretty sure we're evenly matched as well, from memory she's short just like me lol.
Oh and since we're talking characters I should probably mention the villain Blake. He is a evil, evil man who I hope goes straight to hell without passing go. This man has some wicked mind games up his sleeve.
At the end of this book you do get closure but you also get a cliffhanger that leads onto the next book, this is the only downside to this book that and the fact I have to wait till March 2014 for Deceiving Lies to come out. Not a happy Jellybean about that. I guess I'll be working on my patience issues next hahaha.
