I've been stealing moments like I do everyday and last night I got to the point I couldn't put it down and ended up way past my bedtime (Bookworm problem #1 I think) and am now paying for it today (Is it bedtime yet?). In saying that I'm not complaining. This book was definitely worth being up way too late and I'm happy to pay the price now as I tell you about it.
Synopsis - Ana Belle never wanted anything more than to hang up her apron, jump on her Vespa and ride off into the sunset, leaving Sugartown in the dust.
Elijah Cade never wanted anything more than a hot meal, a side of hot arse and a soft place to lay his head at night where he could forget about his past.
But you know what they say about wanting: you always want what you can’t have.
Nineteen year-old virgin Ana is about to discover that’s not quite true because a six foot three, hotter than hell, tattooed, Aussie sex god just rode into town. He’s had a taste of her pie and he wants more– no really, Ana bakes pies for a living, get your mind out of the gutter.
She’d be willing to hand over everything tied up in a big red bow, there’s just one problem; Elijah has secrets dirtier than last week’s underwear. Secrets that won't just break Ana’s heart, but put her life at risk, too. When those secrets come to light, their relationship is pushed to breaking point.
Add to that a psychotic nympho best friend, an overbearing father, a cuter than humanly possible kid brother, a wanton womanizing cousin, the ex from hell, and more pies than you could poke a ... err ... stick ... at.
And you thought small towns were boring.
Welcome to Sugartown.
Ok for starters I loved the fact it was set in Aussie. Even though it was set further south it reminded me of when we were in Cairns back in August and went north to Cape Tribulation to go Jungle Surfing (Side note if you haven't heard of this you are missing out. It was lots of fun!!!!! Click here to check it out - Your welcome Tourism Australia lol). The little town we went through was what I pictured in my head. Well at least the size of it and the people.
I won't lie, Ana had her moments where she could've used a slap, but she had her reasons, with everything that happened, I fully would of been the same.
Elijah, He had me in fits of giggles, how many names can one Man have for his penis (There were lots of them and they were all hilarious, I realised halfway through I should of noted them all down hehe). He's obviously is no saint when he turns up but he does try with Ana. I have one moment that I could of killed him (Nicole) but he did his best to try and make amends and well you'll see how the story goes.
I really wanted to strangle Ana's best mate Holly at times but she definitely had Ana's back a few times.
I won't go into spoiler territory here but this book involves Bikers, dark and sad pasts and a whole pile of drama. By about 80% through I'd made the decision I was finishing come hell or high water as it was just getting to good to put down.
Can't wait for the next one Enjoy Your Stay which will be out next year.
Right now I'm off to find a quiet corner to hide from my daughter in and nap.
