Kaleidoscope - Kristen Ashley

So thanks to Joanna Wylde and me wanting to get my hands on Reaper's Legacy I joined NetGalley.
This as it turns out was a very awesome turn of events.
As well as getting my hands on an ARC of  Reaper's Legacy, I also managed to score a copy of Kaleidoscope. Cue the happy dancing that followed as we are well aware of the fact I'm a huge Colorado Mountain Series fan. Was definitely a lucky score on my part. Will be interesting to see what other gems I can get my hands on through NetGalley in the future.

Synopsis - Sexy, gifted, and loyal, PI Jacob Decker is a tall, cool drink of perfection who had Emmanuelle Holmes at "hello." His relationship with Emme's best friend kept them apart for years, but things have changed. Now that a case has brought him to Gnaw Bone, Colorado, the road is wide open for Emme and Deck to explore something hotter and deeper than Emme dreamed possible. So why is she sabotaging the best thing that's ever happened to her?

It isn't easy to catch Deck off guard, but Emme does just that when she walks back into his life after nine long years. The curvy brunette had her charms back in the day, but now she's a bona fide knockout . . . and she wants to rekindle their friendship. Deck, however, wants more. Emme's always been the one; she excites Deck's body and mind like no other woman can. But a dark chapter from Emme's past overshadows their future together. Now only Deck can help her turn the page-if she'll let him . .

Having met Deck through previous books I was intrigued when I found out he was getting his own book.
I really liked Emme, she didn't let people tell her what she thought. She knew she had a opinion and right or wrong she was entitled to it.

Deck was very Kristen Alpha which of course being a fan I absolutely loved. It was awesome how he didn't back away from a "puzzle" and didn't give up until he solved it.

The one thing that stuck out for me was this book didn't follow the general way the other books worked. There was definitely drama and a bit of suspense but I kept waiting for something that never came. That is by no means a bad thing but having read this series I'd come to expect the big big bad.

I loved the epilogue and all that brought.  I can't wait to go back to the Mountains for Deke's & Wood's stories.

I believe you can Pre-Order here on Amazon if you're in the USA (I can't see if it works due to being in New Zealand. Please let me know if it doesn't)
