Oh how I've been waiting to head back to Sugartown. I loved the last book so I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next for my favourite bunch of Aussie Battlers.
Enjoy Your Stay
Synopsis - The last thing Holly Harris expected was to wind up nineteen, knocked-up, and all alone. When Coop left to pursue his dreams of becoming a rock god, he left a tiny piece of him behind.
Holly wishes he hadn’t.
Jackson wishes he hadn’t.
Jackson Rowe tried filling the void his family left by drinking, screwing around, and leaving a string of heartbroken women in his wake. Moving back to Sugartown should have been easy, but he hadn’t counted on the fact his sometimes attraction to Holly would still be alive and kicking—and he sure as hell hadn’t counted on her being pregnant with another man’s baby.
They drive one another crazy, and yet they can’t stay away.
When old flames resurface, and even older wounds are torn open, can two people so similar make it work? Or will their stubbornness only drive them further apart?
After the last part of Welcome to Sugartown, I've been dying to see what Carmen had in store for Holly and Jackson.
I'd like to say Carmen is brilliant. I went from the last book thinking I wanted to strangle Holly, to thinking she was absolutely hilarious. Some of the things she thought just had me in stitches.I love her use of sarcasm. Her and Jackson have the Smartass factor sorted for this book.
Holly's had it pretty rough with the way her life has gone lately and I do feel for her. She is trying to do the right thing by Coop, By Jackson and by the baby. She's ignoring her heart and trying to be a grown up and make responsible decisions. Problem is her heart is screaming for her to make another decision which is where the fun begins.
Jackson is not much better. He's trying to sort himself out. He wants Holly but he's not sure whether he can deal with the responsibility of a baby, let a lone someone else's baby. I don't blame him, It's a lot to take on. He's got it in his head that he doesn't want to be responsible, He doesn't want to stop having fun.
Things for him get a little crazy when Holly's situation becomes all the more real.
My heart broke for these two on numerous occasions. Emotions definitely run as high as the hormones in this book. It's easy to sit back and say they should of just said what they were feeling but seriously given the situation I doubt people would be able to think with a level head. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Of course a visit to Sugartown would not be complete without a catch up or two with Ana and Elijah. While the book doesn't centre round these two this time they certainly play a part through out the book.
I certainly have enjoyed my return visit to Sugartown and can't wait to visit this bunch of misfits again. Hopefully soon (Hint, hint, nudge, nudge).
The next books look like they are going to be (At least according to Goodreads) Greetings from Sugartown and Now Leaving Sugartown
