I have been impatiently waiting for this book for quite some time now.
I had been itching to get my hands on it. I got it yesterday (22/02/14) and started it properly last night.
My gosh it did not take me long to devour this book. I became completely useless (Well more useless than normal), I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Synopsis - I traded my death for love. I wasn’t given a choice. His decision has caught up with us, so now I am a living, breathing catalyst to war between Heaven and Hell.
The violations he committed saved my life. Since the collision, he’s appeared everywhere. In my hospital room, my school, even my house. He shows up in my paintings, my drawings, in all of my art projects. I can’t stop thinking about him.
He says his name is Gabriel, and he doesn’t understand what’s happening to him. He doesn’t know how I can see him or why he wants me in ways that should be impossible for a Celestial.
My obsession grows. I need him to hold me, kiss me—give all of himself. For every day he protects me, the consequences loom darker and taller. Soon, they’ll crash down on us.
The war is about to begin
I want to start by saying that the storyline was absolutely perfect for me. It had the right amount of suspense and mushy stuff to keep my going. Cassiel brought the smart ass factor and the story flowed.
I absolutely love Sunniva's imagination with the scenes she sets. Shimmer's Edge sounds absolutely gorgeous!
Gaia had it rough to begin with - Seriously wanted to shake some sense into her bf Marina there. She didn't help matters there for awhile. She proved time again she had strength beyond measure. Obviously having Gabriel at her back helped matters. I liked her loyalty and her infinite love she had for Gabriel, even when things pointed to the bad she didn't let it waver her.
Gabriel certainly didn't know what hit him when he set eyes on Gaia. I loved that he had to learn how to handle human emotions. Watching him handle jealousy was a site. The way he loved was very cool to :).
While I loved Gaia and Gabriel and absolutely adore their story, I developed a bit of a soft spot for a certain fallen angel - Cassiel. At the start I REALLY didn't like him but obviously things changed towards the end. I do think the nectar helped his cause at the end there (Seriously people read the book and you'll get it) but theres just something about the bad boy that I found intriguing). I definitely was not a fan of the plan he had originally but his role in the story worked and I definitely wouldn't change a thing.
This book is definitely "all that and then some".
So highly recommended and is cemented as a favourite book!!!!!
Now to impatiently wait for Stargazer to come out!
